Ceaucescu: Power’s madness

Ceaucescu: Power’s madness

He was the most adulated of all the heads of communist Europe. He claimed to be a match for the Soviet Union. He was known as ”The Genius of the Carpathians” and established one of the darkest reigns of terror, wiping clean the slate of the past, his capital and his people. He believed that History began with him. Madness cost Nicolae Ceausescu his life and he died without understanding his people’s revolt.
